Dubai (LLC) is a joint venture between the Government
of Dubai and Schlumberger Holdings Ltd. and
was established to provide drilling, workover
/ completion services and equipment on oil and
gas wells throughout the United Arab Emirates.
Since its inception early in 1979 the Company
has operated in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman both
on land and offshore. In all of its operations
Sedco Dubai (LLC) has proven to be an industry
leader in Health, Safety and Environment as
well as in the efficient operations execution.
The Management's strong commitment to continuous
improvement has led the Company to these outstanding
results.
Key Activities/Services
SEDCO
Dubai (LLC) benefits from :-
- A strong commitment to HSE resulting in
an accident frequency rate much lower than
the industry average, over 50 years of experience
in both onshore and offshore operations involving
all types of rigs from highly mobile desert
land rigs through ultra heavy land rigs, swamp
barges, jack-ups and large harsh environment
semi-submersibles to dynamically positioned
drill ships.
- Four training centres catering to specific
regional requirements using formal classroom,
modular self study and on-site hands on training.
- A Research and Engineering department based
in Paris, France which supports the field
in structural, mechanical, electrical and
drilling engineering, management of integrated
drilling packages and early production systems
in addition to the development of drilling
software and computer systems. The Paris based
R & E center works closely with Schlumberger
Cambridge Research in the UK in the field
of drilling engineering
Sedco Dubai (LLC) currently
operates 2 jack-up rigs for Dubai Petroleum
Company offshore Dubai.
The Trident 3, built in Singapore
in 1979, is capable of drilling to 25,000 feet
in water depths up to 250 feet. This rig has
been working for many years with DPC and has
the distinction of having the first MDS computerised
drilling systems worldwide and the first automated
chemical handling system in the Gulf.
The Trident 18, build in
Singapore in 1980, is capable of drilling to
25,000 feet in 300 feet of water.
