Engineering Services Machine Shop is a specialised
division of OSC and is based in ultra modern and
environmentally conscious facilities consisting
of an 1800m2 air-conditioned workshop,
together with approximately 500m2 of
semi-covered area for fabrication storage. A dedicated
machine shop for cylindrical, internal and surface
grinding, milling, vertical boring, CNC drilling
and lathe machines.
3 axis drilling capabilities with a 4270mm x
915 table and a drilling capacity of 50mm Diameter.
Drilling of heat exchanger tube plates and associated
components is achieved through the utilisation
of an OSAI 10 - 110 CNC series controller that
provides the accuracy necessary for the manufacture
of heat exchange components.
chromium deposits are widely used for the provision
of hard, abrasion resistant wearing and for
the building up of undersized or worn parts.
value of chromium for such purpose lies in its
hardness resistance to abrasion, passivity of
surface and its 'anti-seize' properties when
applied to rotating or reciprocating parts.
Coatings of Tungsten carbide, chrome carbide
and pure metals are applied by High Velocity
Oxygen Fuel (HVOF) process. The introduction
of a Sulzer Metco Diamond Jet Hybrid™
HVOF process allows OSC Engineering Services
to produce premium quality hard, dense, very
low porosity coatings with high bond strengths
to the substrate.

aluminium, Zinc, Babbit, carbon steels, stainless
steels, copper brouze, brass and molybdenum

Engineering Services Machine Shop specialise
in cylindrical and internal grinding. Several
grinding machines in the facility ensure deliveries
are prompt and downtime of customers' equipment
is kept to a minimum. In addition to the grinding
facilities our services also provide general
machining requirements. The machine shop capabilities
extend to lathe, vertical boring, surface grinding,
lapping and milling works.
Internal grinding machines cater for both conventional
rotating work-piece or the planetary principle
for heavier and bulky components.
Engineering Services utilise two Schenck Hard
Bearing Balancing Machines in their facility.
Typical components requiring balancing are electrical
armatures & rotors, gas and steam turbine
rotors, pump impellers, gas compressors, shafts
and parts of process plant equipment.
Plasma/Arc spray with 6 axis
robotic control and turntable integration in
a dedicated spray cell. A mass flow plasma controller
provides quality coatings for metals, ceramics
and plastics in a controlled environment.
