Due to its strategic position and relatively good infrastructure Kish Island has proved to be a very useful location for logistic services in support of drilling in the South Pars field.

The two delineation wells for Total South Pars were drilled primarily with support from the facilities on the island complemented by the broader infrastructure of Jebel Ali.

Total South Pars has been quite happy with the services provided by Kish Island and have stated that they have been very pleased with the logistic services provided by OSC under its contract TSP/OP/CFT 008 Handling Base Services which have been performed from Kish Island itself. Furthermore, Total South Pars is undertaking well drilling from Kish as Assaluyeh is not yet developed sufficiently.

Pedec (Petropars) are also using Kish Island on a limited basis for support of its project particularly JDC (Sagadrill) which has a small presence on the Island.
