IOSC intends to operate a somewhat limited service out of the Khorramshahr port because the port infrastructure itself does not lend itself to Oilfield operations primarly because of the very low draft of the quays. It might, however, have practical uses as a warehousing location for transit materials for Azadegan and Bangestan and it is this context that IOSC intends to establish a presence there.

Clearly Khorramshahr's position to the west of the Karoon river facilities support to these projects situated close to the Iraq border (Anaran, Darquain, Azadegan, Bangestan, Mehr etc).
