Bushehr
is very well placed to support the Dorood, Hendijan
and possibly Foroozan offshore projects and,
in fact, IOSC has been awarded the contract
to provide Handling/Lifting/Transportation Services
to TotalFinaElf in support of the offshore portion
of its Dorood buy-back project. Bushehr can
also support the Kharg Island operation where
the Dorood onshore drilling will take place.
IOSC has signed a contract
with the Ports and Shipping Organisation (PSO)
of the Islamic Republic of Iran for office,
guesthouse, open and closed storage and harbour
facilities within its Bushehr facilities to
support the Dorood project. Additionally, IOSC
will provide vessel clearance services, customs
clearances and waste disposal services from
the Bushehr Port.
Bushehr
already houses the IOSC operations for NIOC
but this area is considered a little congested
hence the move to PSO facilities not far away.
Some distances from Bushehr
are: -
Kharg Island
- 67
kilometers
Bandar
Imam Khomeini
- 258 kilometers
Kish Island
- 458
kilometers
Bandar
Abbas
- 725 kilometers
Bushehr
is served by an international airport situated
only 3 kilometers from the port and the airport
has daily flights within Iran to cities such
as Tehran, Isfahan and Shiraz and flights to
Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
Due to Bushehr's support
of the oil and gas industry which has spanned
many years, there does exist a large pool of
well-qualified Iranians who could perform exceptional
service with suitable training and the right
equipment.
IOSC is committed to the
process of indigenisation without comprising
the level of service and is further committed
to a strong Health, Safety and Environmental
orientation.
